ARCHICON 2016 was run by RTC Events Management (RTCem) and be co-located with Australia’s largest BIM event, RTC Australasia. ARCHICON 2016 was held in the Hunter Valley between 12-13th May 2016, with RTC Australasia running a day longer. Our 2016 event was attended by 27 Archicad users from around Australia. Being co-located with RTC it gave our delegates the chance to network with nearly 350 AEC industry professionals.

Under the arrangement, ARCHICON 2016 was chaired by founder Nathan Hildebrandt to provide expert guidance in ARCHICAD based topics and presenters to ensure the quality of presenters were world-class.

The focus of ARCHICON 2016 was on technical processes, and once again the line up was world-class, lead by UK OPENBIM Expert, Rob JacksonARCHICON 2016 took attendees on a journey through common day to day native ARCHICAD workflows through to OPENBIM collaboration processes.

Commenting on the new relationship, Nathan states: "The decision to partner with RTCem was a simple one. I have the ability to direct and guide world-class presentations that are relevant to ARCHICAD users. RTC provides an event and an environment for ARCHICON to grow bigger than I could achieve on my own.  RTC Events Management  is the industry leader for BIM events, and it brings an enormous value to ARCHICON and to ARCHICAD users."

RTC Events Management Executive Chairman Wesley Benn explains: "Our vision is ‘to be recognised as a trusted builder of communities dedicated to the built environment’. Our part in building the ARCHICAD user community is a direct manifestation of our commitment to that vision."

Session 2 | 1pm to 3pm101 Master Templates, with Quinton Cooper

ARCHICON 2016 - 101 Master Templates

12th May 2016, 1pm AEST

Do you require a single template or 100s of master templates? Architects and Residential Builders typically have very different requirements from BIM. This session will focus on finding the right approach to ARCHICAD template creation for Architects needing a single template file or Project Builders managing hundreds of standard designs.

Session 3 | 3pm to 4pmOut of the box Cinema 4D Rendering Workflows from ARCHICAD, with Gideon Taljaard

ARCHICON 2016 - Out of the box Cinema 4D Rendering Workflows from ARCHICAD

12th May 2016, 3pm AEST

ARCHICAD provides enhanced, more realistic rendering capabilities out of the box! In practice, this means, that anyone can create state-of the art, professionally rendered visualizations of their projects without the need to buy, install and learn any additional software applications!

Session 4 | 5pm to 6pmMobilise with BIMx Pro, with Lachlan Green

ARCHICON 2016 - Mobilise with BIMx Pro

12th May 2016, 5pm AEST

Having access to the right information when you are out of the office is critical in BIM processes. All practices need to find a solution to mobilise their BIM. BIMx PRO provides a mobile solution for ARCHICAD users that helps achieve that need.

Session 5 | 9am to 10amBuilt environment simulation for the purpose of development assessment, with Andrew Zarb

ARCHICON 2016 - Built environment simulation for the purpose of development assessment

13th May 2016, 9am AEST

Sunshine Coast Council uses BIM, GIS, LiDAR and gaming engine software to create and maintain a complete model of the Sunshine Coast’s 2291km² terrain. Learn how a variety of software is used to interface with the data for several uses including development assessment.

Session 6 | 10am to 12pmMeasuring up your ARCHICAD Data, with Matthew Johnson

ARCHICON 2016 - Measuring up your ARCHICAD Data

13th May 2016, 10am AEST

Sharing ArchiCAD building data with Quantity Surveyors can be one of the key benefits of BIM but what information are you really sharing and how is it interpreted by those who need it.

Session 8 | 1pm to 2pmIFC Live!, with Rob Jackson

ARCHICON 2016 - IFC Live!

13th May 2016, 1pm AEST

Creating models using open standards is key to sharing models efficiently with other stakeholders for their use. Understanding IFC is at the heart of OPEN BIM and this session aims to cover how to  create geometry/data in Graphisoft ARCHICAD effectively.

Session 9 | 2pm to 3pmModel Validation, is your BIM Right, with Nathan Hildebrandt, FRAIA

ARCHICON 2016 - Model Validation, is your BIM Right

13th May 2016, 2pm AEST

Session sponsored by: Dulux logo

The QA requirement that all practices will face in the future, BIM Validation will become the norm as more people collaborate in digital over analogue. The presentation takes you on a journey from the Authoring software ARCHICAD, through the IFC export process and into Solibri Model Checker.

Session 10 | 4pm to 5pmPanel Discussion: Delivering OPENBIM Success, with Gideon Taljaard, Matthew Johnson, Quinton Cooper, Rob Jackson, Nathan Hildebrandt, FRAIA

ARCHICON 2016 - Panel Discussion: Delivering OPENBIM Success

13th May 2016, 4pm AEST

ARCHICON presenters will discuss and share their positives and negatives in working using OPENBIM processes in their day to day practices. This forum will be interactive with the audience to promote the wider discussion and close out ARCHICON with a bang!!!
