Karl Fitzpatrick

As Building Information Manager at Auckland Airport in New Zealand for the past three and a half years, Karl is responsible for driving the client-side strategy and adoption of digital technologies and processes to help improve Building Information Management across the full asset lifecycle. Prior to Auckland Airport, Karl worked in Helsinki, for seven years as an Architect and BIM Manager at AW2 Architects, on largescale healthcare projects, giving him experience from both the client and supplier side of the equation. Karl strongly supports the use of open standards, such as IFC, and is an active member of the BuildingSmart International Airport Room. The work he has been leading at Auckland Airport was recently recognized as a global award winner in the Asset Owners category of the buildingSmart International awards in 2020.
