Thom Fussell

Now retired, Thom was the last Executive Director and Chief Architect of the Queensland State Government’s Project Services. He led the professional technical team of more than 250 staff for 12 years during which time Project Services established a reputation for high-quality design and documentation and delivered many significant projects, a number of which were recognised in Queensland and nationally through awards by professional organisations.

Thom led the pioneering development of digital technologies for the design, documentation, and construction of public buildings. Project Services successfully produced many digital building models incorporation the work of all the contributing disciplines. Project Services at the time was recognised to be a national leader in building information modelling (BIM) a capability that has been developed through the contributions of many members of the capable and committed team that have worked there.
